Arsewipes!
Yeah, I know I haven't done a post in a long time. I've barely been to the pictures. I saw that Head On film. That was good. Bless them, especially the way they jump around the room to Sisters of Mercy shouting "Punk ist Todt, yah?". Bless. Apart from that, this film is very frank, and you probably shouldn't take your mum. Unless she's a slaaag.I should also apologise to Wes Anderson for pre-emptively bad-mouthing The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I enjoyed this film so much I went out and bought the soundtrack of David Bowie covers sung in Portugese, Damn! Reasons why this film is good, #1) It's lush. It looks expensive and beautiful. God knows how Wes Anderson persuaded the studio to stump up all that cash to make a film which flies completely over the heads of everyone living in Akron, Illinois. Reason #2) It's Rushmore, in a boat, dude. Bill Murray, and a young man who he has a strained father/son relationship compete for the affections of a woman. Extensive fish and Jacques Costeau references in both films. Reason #3) It's not The Royal Tenenbaums. The Royal Tenenbaums has lots of characters and lots of stories. The Life Aquatic has lots of characters, but only one story. And frequent strong Bill Murray in a wetsuit.
Sam told me she thought it was a bit... subtle.
One Word Movie will resume normal service after I run my marathon.
